Solar-powered hot water

Solar water heating or ‘solar thermal heating’, involves using solar panels to absorb the heat of the sun and transfer it to the water you use in your showers, sinks and baths. Solar-powered thermal technology works alongside your conventional water heating system, the panels absorb heat which in turn pre-heats the water in a hot water storage cylinder.

Switching to solar thermal heating reduces the amount of fuel needed to bring the hot water up to a useable temperature, which as a result saves you money on your heating bills and reduces your carbon emissions.
